Growing up in Milwaukee in the 1950’s, my opportunities to spend time in the Wisconsin countryside were few, but they did happen. And when they happened, there was more to explore and learn than I could imagine.
When I am out with my camera, it seems that once again that there is so much to see and learn. At times I feel like a kid again, but photography is more than that. Photography has the curious ability to allow you to explore the world around you, and at the same time, with the best images, look inside and explore yourself. I’m not quite sure how it’s able to do that. I only know that it happens.
I enjoy photographing birds and landscapes, but I particularly enjoy capturing images that convey a sense of peace and tranquility. I like them because they remind me that there is more to this world than what’s represented in the headlines and there is more to the future than what we can sense today. It’s good to be reminded of these things.
When withmephotograhy.com was started, it was an attempt to display some of the photographs that I’ve enjoyed the most. It was also started with the hope that others would enjoy them too. I’d love it if you were to visit and take a look. You’ll find these galleries: Courage, Hope, Peace, Reflection, Silence, Solitude, Strength, The Journey, Tranquility, Rejuvenation, Life and Wonder. I hope that you enjoy the photographs.
